Key Positions at Safer Human Medicine

Animal Technician:

Responsible for the care and well-being of non-human primates (NHPs) on our site.  This includes feeding, cleaning and sanitizing enclosures and providing environmental enrichment to the NHPs.  Applicants to this role will need to be detail oriented.

Enrichment Technician:

Responsible for creating stimulus through introducing various toys and enrichment items.  Involves preparation of food / medicine treats.  Responsible for identifying wear of enrichment toys and feeders and ordering replacements.  Applicants to this role need to be detail oriented with great observation skills.

Behaviorist:

Responsible for ensuring optimal groups of NHPs within each enclosure.  This includes gathering and using behavior information to determine optimal group hierarchy and identifying and resolving issues of NHP compatibility.  Applicants to this role need prior experience in NHP behavior.

Veterinary Technician:

Performs technical procedures on NHPs including physical exams, treatments, sample collection, and medication preparation.  Performs daily health checks of all animals.  Applicants to this role must have a Veterinary Technician certification or equivalent experience. Experience with NHPs is highly desired but not an absolute requirement.

Veterinarian:

Performs veterinary rounds for all NHPs on site including clinical care.  DVM (or VMD) required with quick USDA accreditation in GA upon hire.  Lab Animal or Production experience with NHPs desirable but not a requirement.

Maintenance Technician:

Performs general site maintenance duties.  This include repairs, preventive maintenance and overseeing third party contractors.  Applicants to this role need general maintenance experience.  Specialized skills such as HVCA, plumbing or electrical are desirable.

Managers / Supervisors:

Various leadership roles to oversee various teams across our site.

Entry level jobs start at $18 plus per hour and full benefits day one!  Our generous benefit plan includes Medical, Dental, Vision and Life.

Our generous paid time off program starts accruing on day one.  In addition, there are seven paid company holidays.  Finally, all employees will receive one day per year for Bainbridge First which you can choose to advance our community.

401k with matching is available after 90 days.
Merit increases will be reviewed annually.
